NTC Logistics proudly leads the charge in India’s renewable energy sector, overseeing the intricate logistics of transporting 5.2 MW wind turbine generator (WTG) components for the upcoming Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, Gujarat. This monumental project is pivotal in supporting India’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 gigawatts of clean energy by the decade’s end and attaining net-zero emissions by 2070.

With our proven expertise and innovative approach, NTC is facilitating the seamless transportation of these critical components from various locations across India to the Khavda site, located a mere 10 kilometers from the Indo-Pak border. The wind turbines, designed by Adani Green Energy Limited, boast a maximum tower diameter of 5.02 meters and blades stretching 78.6 meters in length.

Transporting such oversized components involves navigating a series of complex logistical challenges. Our comprehensive route feasibility studies revealed obstacles, particularly the Rudramata Bridge, which can only bear loads of up to 70 tons, insufficient for WTG transport. Consequently, we identified alternative routes via Nakhatrana and Hajipir, which necessitated extensive modifications such as elevating over 1,200 electrical lines and trimming trees along a 100-kilometer stretch.

To ensure the transportation process runs smoothly, NTC executed significant infrastructural upgrades, including the construction of 23 parking bays, enhancements at toll plazas, and adjustments at critical turning points. To accommodate the massive dimensions of the WTG components, our team deployed hydraulic axles and specialized trailers.

Throughout the journey, we ensured the safe transport of the towers, nacelles, and blades by accompanying the convoy with two escort vehicles. In just three days, NTC successfully navigated these challenges, completing the delivery of nearly 90 sets of turbines to the Khavda site. This achievement underscores our commitment to excellence in logistics and our dedication to fostering a sustainable energy future.
