Tunnel Boring Machine – Logistics Transportation
At NTC Logistics, we pride ourselves on our ability to navigate complex logistical challenges with precision and agility. Recently, we successfully transported a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) from Chennai Port to Madhavaram, demonstrating our commitment to prompt delivery, even in demanding situations.
The ODC cargo measured an impressive 7.1 meters in length, 6.8 meters in width, and 4.32 meters in height, necessitating the use of ten hydraulic axles for safe transport. The extensive dimensions of the TBM required us to shift all concrete barricades within Chennai Port, utilizing a Hydra crane after obtaining the necessary permissions. This careful planning ensured that the loading process proceeded smoothly.
To ensure the safe passage of this oversized consignment, we deployed two police units to manage traffic along the route. Additionally, three SUV escorts accompanied the shipment, providing an extra layer of security throughout the journey.
The most challenging segment of the operation involved a 4.5-kilometer service road, characterized by high-tension line shutdowns and the removal of tight cables and service lines. Our team proactively secured permissions well in advance to mitigate any potential delays. Navigating this narrow road, which often measured only 5.5 meters in width, required strategic planning and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Despite the various constraints and challenges, NTC Logistics successfully delivered the Tunnel Boring Machine to its destination as promised, showcasing our unwavering dedication to excellence in project logistics. Our team’s meticulous attention to detail, combined with our proactive approach to problem-solving, ensures that we continue to lead the industry in managing complex transportation projects.
At NTC Logistics, we are committed to reorienting your heavy decisions with the agility and planning required to meet the demands of today’s logistics landscape. Trust us to handle your most challenging transportation needs with expertise and efficiency.
