Efficient Multimodal Logistics for Generator Stator Transport

NTC Logistics undertook the complex transportation of a 375-ton electrical generator stator, utilizing a specialized Girder Bridge carrying tool. This project covered a 1600 km route, which included navigating busy national highways and overcoming infrastructure limitations that made single-mode transport impossible. NTC’s expertise in synchronized multi-modal logistics—incorporating road, barge, and sea transport—ensured minimal en-route storage and maximum efficiency throughout the process.

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the crossing of long-span bridges, particularly the Hasdeo River in Chhattisgarh. Due to the lack of infrastructure for super heavy cargo, NTC constructed a temporary bypass road of 1.2 km parallel to the existing bridge, allowing for the safe and smooth movement of the cargo. The team also managed to cross several weak bridges without the need for additional bypasses, reducing the overall travel distance by around 400 km.

Another significant challenge was navigating through regions with high-security risks, particularly areas controlled by Naxalites. Despite these hurdles, NTC’s team ensured the timely delivery of the generator stator, catching the earliest available vessel to the final destination.

NTC Logistics’ successful handling of this project underscores their expertise in managing large-scale, time-sensitive cargo movements. By overcoming infrastructure limitations, security risks, and complex route challenges, the team once again demonstrated their ability to deliver on time, no matter the scale or complexity of the project.
