Our dedicated Projects Logistics division recently undertook the monumental task of transporting a massive 202 MT transformer cargo from Vadodara in Gujarat to Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu. Utilizing 14 Goldhofer axles and two Volvo 460 pullers, this significant cargo, measuring 7.69 meters in length, 5.28 meters in width, and 5.13 meters in height, embarked on a challenging journey spanning nearly 2,300 kilometers.

The logistics efforts faced further complications due to the onset of the North-East monsoon, which inflicted substantial damage to roads in regions such as Ankleshwar, Sagbara, Dhule, Shirpur, Nagpur, and Ahmednagar. However, leveraging our in-house expertise in road surveying and infrastructure development, the NTC Logistics team adeptly implemented the necessary road improvements to adhere to the project timeline. Our meticulous planning ensured the smooth progress of the transport, even in adverse weather conditions.

Throughout the journey, our team encountered several logistical hurdles, including the presence of digital route boards managed by L&T that had never been removed before. Diligently, our team sought permissions to remove these obstacles, ensuring the safe passage of the cargo. The final 14 kilometers involved navigating a mine road managed by RAMCO, which only permitted pass-throughs on Thursdays.
