Production from renewable sources is constantly growing and NTC Logistics stands to support wind energy clients during this period of rapid growth and expansion. NTC was awarded the scope of pre-carriage logistics to deliver 300 WTG Rotor Blade of length 75.4m from TPI Factory, Oragadam to Tuticorin Port.

The Challenges: There was a hindrance in transporting the consignment through the underpass railway bridge crossing as the actual consignment along with the trailer height is 5.86m, whereas the maximum permissible clearance is only 5.72m at Chinnalapatty. On exploring other feasible route option, we found that the consignment has to be carried out as per the planned route, since the other routes are not viable as it would involve extensive road development activity that leads to more time consumption with increased transit distance and duration.

Solution: With the help of our transportation R&D team, we were able to modify our specialized telescopic trailer to meet our requirement by reducing the overall consignment height from 5.86m to 5.69m leaving a 30mm gap pass between the consignment and bridge and made it possible.
